Common Questions

Working with writers is pretty easy if you follow a few simple steps. Here we’ll briefly answer a few of the frequently asked questions about working with Write Words.

You’ll find more details in our blog articles.

What information do you need to give to Write Words?

To write a great blog for you, we need to know three things:

  1. The topic (send us links to pages on your site or other sites that deal with this subject)
  2. The target audience (general public, CEOs, IT specialist or buying decision maker etc.)
  3. The action the reader is to take after reading your blog

This information is generally enough for us to work on, but if the topic is involved, we might need to have a phone chat to clarify your needs.  Remember that a blog works best if it focusses on just one central idea.

Is it important to have an image or photo with a blog?

Yes.  Images help the reader understand your message quickly.

Blogs with images are shared more frequently on social media.  For example, tweets with images get a 35% increase in retweets.  The top 87% of Facebook posts include an image.

The only thing more important than an image is an attention-grabbing headline.

We can use images you already have, or we can buy a stock photograph, and you can have that uploaded with the blog or article.  We will present you with three alternative images.  The cost for stock images is $50.

You will find that the content advice you get when working with writers at Write Words will significantly improve the effectiveness of your website.

Write a winning proposal with five key ideas.

Proposals are about solving problems that customers have. It is a truism that people and companies generally buy things when there is a pain-point that needs to be relieved.

Your proposal must identify the underlying customer issue and map it onto products and services that you can offer, at a price the customer is willing to pay.

Here are the five key points in any proposal:

  1. It’s not about you. It’s about your customer’s needs
  2. Talk about the outcomes your customer can expect
  3. Make the document easy to read and keep it short
  4. Give the customer three options to choose from
  5. Talk about the next step.  Include a signature section where the customer can accept your proposal then and there.
